Warning about breeder

If you buy a horse from Goodtanaba or bred by them, be forewarned that they may go change the affix to include a totally different breed and or species in the title. You can end up with your quarter horse unicorn, stuck with a donkey affix, now does that make any sense? No, it does not.

Affixes should not be allowed to be changed after creation because this is just the sort of thing that happens and all it does is cause conflict.

Bribery... no, more of a thanks.

In an intent to say thanks to the players who use my coat on Caballow, I have decided to offer them a chance to have a custom made animated signature pen. I made one for myself one day and it got a very good reaction from people. Unfortunately they are time consuming to make, so I had to limit who I make them for. My solution is to make them for the people who actually choose my coat on Caballow.

So if you want a pen like the ones shown bellow, consider using my coat. ;-)

Is it really "so" terrible?...

So Caballow.com is still fairly new. That means there are not that many custom made coats for use with the Golden Apple black market item. I figured, if there has ever been a time to create and submit a coat, it's now. If I made one on Howrse it would so be lost in shuffle of 25 pages of coats.

I ended up creating this coat and submitting it on Caballow:

So now I ask myself "Is it really "so" terrible?..." it has only been used by me, a close friend and one other person that must have decided it wasn't "good" enough... since they have since changed the horses coat to another coat.

Now, trust me, if you have played on Caballow the coats on there are nothing I'd do black-flips over. I personally don't want to use them, I am used to the coats on Howrse. There are a lot of very nice coats on Howrse, not so many on Caballow. I don't see what is making every other coat on there, better than mine.

Now I have a theory about this. There is a "mod" on there who has kind of over done it when it comes to the coat department. They have submitted so many coats, that you are almost forced to use one of their coats since 90% were submitted by them. Their coats aren't bad but I personally don't think they are wonderful either. I can't help but get the feeling there is some influence when it comes to players choosing their coats on there, when they see a name written in green. Perhaps a little bit of favoritism or brown nosing is going on? People are always trying to rub shoulders with someone they feel is important or influential. If they get in "good" with someone "better" than them, they will have some kind of shield of protection, or freeway to either get away with stuff or to some how better their game.

Sadly for me there is nothing that can be done about this... most people have a very pliant nature. When people make a choice they base it on many factors, popularity is one of them. I have nothing but regrets for wasting 4 passes which took me a long time to save up, on submitting that coat. I didn't realize at the time that I shouldn't bother unless I'm a top breeder or have a green name. Now I am bitter.

Thanksgiving stars

Howrse has the "stars" going again, this time for Thanksgiving.

Unfortunetely, I am not getting anything great this time. Just mostly apples and turnips, big deal, I get those on a normal day and I can just buy them in the shop. No packs at all... none! That's junk, very unfair. Others are getting several packs and I am getting none. Boooooo.

How cool is this?!

This is not related to howrse at all but I came across this and could not pass it up.

Another delay...

The new challenges have been delayed several times on Howrse. It's probably for the better, in the long run anyway. They have said that it's just not ready yet and they won't put it up till it seems to be bug free. They have obviously never done this in the past, because nearly every major site change or update has caused a boat load of issues and errors. Perhaps they have finally learned from past mistakes. ;-)
